Jasper House | Haiti

I knew from the second I picked up a camera -- okay actually from the first time I started editing footage -- that I wanted to tell stories. Even as an 8th grader ( some 15 years ago) I knew that video is a powerful tool to tell a story. It can captivate an audience, it can expose truths, it can make an impact. Combine that with a passion for travel and mission work and it wasn't long before I desired to work with international non-profits. When I started my business in 2014 I thought it would be years before I would be traveling and seeing the world through my lens and even longer before I wouldn't have to do it pro-bono! But, alas, 2016!

What began as a Facebook comment turned into conceptualization and travel plans. I wanted to be a part of Jasper House Haiti as soon as I started learning about it,  a transitional home for girls in Haiti who have been sexually abused or exploited. They offer shelter, education, access to medical attention, and more. Fast forward a few months and Melissa Marshall and I were hopping a plane to Haiti. Check out her blog and all the images on Jasper House's website to see her amazing work! We met a few amazing women and I am so excited to share a small part of their story!
